Moving with Kids - Easing the Transition to a New Home

Our friends over at RealEstateClientGifts.com recently updated their post on The Best Realtor Gift for the Kids!  That got us to thinking about moving day and the importance of preparing our children when moving to a new home whether that home is next door or across the country.  If at all possible it is always best to give children enough time to get used to the mere idea of moving.  Over the years, we have found that broaching any difficult subject is often best done while cuddled together in bed, reading.  Since all the Gets read to our young ones every night, it is not unusual for us to devote an entire week to a topic such as potty training or bullying or presidential biographies, so why not devote a week to reading every book you can about moving to a new home.  As you read the books, encourage your child to ask questions and to explore the characters’ feelings.  Reading is a wonderful way to explore moving day and easing their transition to their new home.

Here are the five books RealEstateClientGifts.com and their visitors have recommended
